Assistant Coach Nandy Lukusa Jr.

Assistant Coach Nandy Lukusa Jr.Nandy Lukusa Jr. has been named assistant coach for the Muskingum women’s basketball program.

Lukusa Jr. brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as a graduate assistant women’s basketball coach at Bowling Green State University. His tenure with the Falcons was marked by significant achievements, including tying the school record for wins in a season with 31 during the 2022-23 campaign and advancing to the WNIT Final Four. His responsibilities on the staff included creating and facilitating individual and group player workouts, breaking down film in preparation for exhibitions and games, creating individual and team game plans for opponents, and engaging with recruits during college visits.

“I am super excited that Nandy will join our program,” said Muskingum women’s basketball head coach Kelly Broderick. “Nandy brings a wealth of knowledge from his time at Bowling Green. He had the opportunity to work with a tremendous staff there, and we are excited for him to be able to bring those experiences here to us. In addition, his time at Traverse City has prepared him to take this next step in his career. His energy and passion for the game will prove him an excellent asset for us.”

Most recently, Lukusa Jr. was the associate head coach for the Traverse City West Senior High School girls basketball program and assistant coach for the boys basketball program. He created diverse daily practice plans, designed and facilitated individual and group player workouts, managed all aspects of in-game coaching, and developed pre-and in-season skill development plans for basketball teams and programs.

Lukusa Jr. also worked as the promotions and operations coordinator at Grand Valley State University. He engaged with fans before, during, and after events and facilitated in-game promotions.

Lukusa Jr. graduated from Grand Valley State in 2021 with a B.S. in sport management. He graduated from Bowling Green in 2023 with a Master’s in sport administration.
